Where are you located?
I teach at my home, 1931 NW 113th Ave, Portland OR 97229, as well as online Via Zoom. Home visits in within 10 minutes driving distance may be possible.
What are your current rates, an how do I pay?
$50/30min, $70/45min, $90/1hr. Rates can be negotiated based on your level of commitment. I accept Paypal, Venmo, and Zelle. Checks are also accepted but I prefer paperless.
What is the Suzuki Method, and how does it work?
The Suzuki Method can also be called the Mother Tongue approach to music education. It starts from birth and it all depends on your commitment as a parent to create the best possible environment for your child to learn in. Learn more at suzukiassociation.com
What is the best way to start my child's music education?
From birth you should surround your child with the best music, many hours a day. Today is the best day to start. You should give your child the freedom to dance and sing and make musical/non-musical noises on various instruments. As soon as possible, you should attend other students' lessons and concerts with your child. Finally, you should learn the fundamentals yourself so that you can practice with your child at home daily. With all these things in place, just be patient until your child asks for lessons. It is bound to happen eventually. In such an environment, it is almost certain that your child will develop an interest in music and become a fine musician.
